Sorry for the late reply, good dissuctions guys!
kouklo what's the problem with phone calls on Driveshell? it should be able to handle that (other than the apparent echo problem).
marlo i remember you talked about integrating AA into Driveshell.. that might be possible yes.. it could be a great hybrid for sure.. Do you want me to look into that again?

Well for now i changed my car pc to a raspberry pi cause the AA project. Just google for "crankshaft" or "open auto pro". This 2 distros are basically the same but from different developers.
Anyway this project is for raspberry pi and i just think this could be pretty cool if it works on a windows pc.
It would make DS much more lightweight if you include AA function.
This way you could strip down DS to the basics you know.
DS will just be the "offline" music player. And if you want navigation, phone calls, whats app or sms messager and so on then you use AA.
I use it on the raspberry pi since allmost 1 year now and it works pretty good.
Anyway i think a hybrid like this could be the future of windows based car pc. Cause this way you get the best of both sides. Just look at the windows 10 development. The way is to integrate android more and more into windows. There is allready a phone app on the windows store.....

https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpyThis is a project called scrcpy. It works on windows and with this you can mirror and control your phone when you connect it to your pc. Maybe this is better as "only" integrate AA into DS. This way you controll your phone with a big touchscreen and can use ALL phone apps. Not too bad i mean :)

LOL No spelling errors? not drunk enough! Bahahahaha! I truly don't even remember writing that. Mondays are my Saturdays so I usually go all out. My bad. LOL There are no problems with calls from Drivershell, I haven't even noticed any echo issues. All I'm saying is I just want to use the calling feature from DS without the rest of the program. Like I was saying before, its way to difficult to add Spotify and the FM radio I'm looking at. I can use the programs I want and have your calling app running in the background. @marlo- You said there is already a phone app in the windows store. whats it called? I have looked everywhere for an app like that, the only one I can find is the crappy one from BlueSoleil called Cphone. That scrcpy program you found is pretty cool. I'll take a look at it. There are a few apps like that out there but they don't do phone calls on the PC very well if at all.

https://support.microsof...s-10-your-phone-app-helpThis app is VERY BASIC for now. It is to drag and drop photos and send text messages. But microsoft is working on it. So at some time it should be possible to make phone calls with this app. Anyway this SCRCPY program looks like it already can do phone calls. I think i go to test it when i find some spare time

@ kouklo I am just curious what you use as frontend for media playback? If i understand you right then you do not want to use DS but just the "phone calls feature" of DS.

I'll be using Spotify and foobar2000. %95 of my music tho is from Spotify and FM radio. I have seen that app from Microsoft, its still a LONG way away from making phone calls. The speed that Microsoft works at it will take a few more years by the time we see it. Ya, you are right, that's exactly what I want from DS. Even if Lasse can get Spotify to work in DS, he won't be able to get the FM app I'm using to work in it. That's why I'm going to use different programs but the only thing I'm missing (that's SUPER easy to use) is a calling app.

Ah now i understand. So you basicaly just use the windows desktop without any frontend. I know that there are some touchscreen friendly skins for foobar.
But personally i prefer to use a frontend which has just buttons to open the program i need. Like DS or AA you know.
