Driveshell 0.8.6 RTMFinally a stable release of the 0.8.6 beta series! Since the latest beta (beta 6), the following has been fixed or added:New stuff:
- Added playlist name to Now Playing info area
- Now Playing playlist toggle button now shows number of playlists and current index instead of playlist name
Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where Music app would create multiple empty favorite playlists
- Improved Market app update stability
- Improved Market install/uninstall stability
Total list of changes in the 0.8.6 release:New stuff:
- Mixer app now supports control of application sounds. Applications outside of Driveshell and the ability to control system sounds. You can lower the volume of a specific app or system sounds lower than the master volume persistently. Please note, currently driveshell is shown twice, this will be fixed soon.
- Mixer app now shows metering values, gray bar indicates device output level and the green bar indicates the scaled down actual volume.
- Improved and simplified dialogs. Most is not seen in the UI but most noticable is now if a dialog has a header, it is now shown uniformed across all dialogs. Same with buttons, if any, instead of every dialog would place the buttons idividually. Please let me know if you encounter a dialog not working or looking as expected!
- Input fields can now be tagged with a datatype, so for text fields, the OSK (On Screen Keyboard) is shown, for numerical fields, the number dialog is shown. This can be seen in the new settings for popups under Settings->UI. Please note, this segment is still work in progress.
- UI changes to Now Playing app. It should now be a little more clean and better looking, especially on smaller screens.
- Added file type, bitrate and samplerate info in Now Playing.
- Added setting for disabeling tablet touch support under General. This settings is do to a problem discovered by a user who uses a capacitive multitouch screen. For some reansons, these screens makes Windows handle touch input differently. It might be a bug in Windows actually. To try to come around this problem, this setting changes how touch input is processed. Please note that enabling this MIGHT make it loose touch input on your screen until disabled again (by mouse).
- I Video app, when a video ends, the next is now automatically played.
- Improved UI regarding login of Phone app in various areas. Please note, there is a small issue where the "Connecting" dialog is incorrectly blurred.
- Improved Phone app connectivity stability and error handeling. Phone app could in some situations show a connected phone even though it was not actually connected.
- Improved the stability of loading and saving app data (settings). You could in some situations get a message saying Driveshell was unable to load settings from backup file when it really didn't fail, or the problem was caused by the non-backup file.
- Improved and extended the plugin system to support new upcomming Tidal streaming plugin.
Fixes:
- Fixed that when installing a plugin or skin and Driveshell needs to restart, it would fail saying that Driveshell is already running.
- Fixed add to playlist dialog error in Music and Nowplaying
- The default Home orb button action is now set correctly to the Applications app if no custom action is set.
- When first launching Driveshell and met with the initial configuration dialog, loading screen was still showing, thus not allowing the main window to be shown correctly to the user.
Changes:
- I did a lot of small UI improvements in many of the dialogs, like bigger text in Music search app.
- UI corrections to Now Playing. Smaller tag info boxes, smaller and shifted progress bar and borders removed on shuffle and favorite buttons.

What do you think about changing the text in the toggle playlist button to blue color? Same like the text color of playlist name.

I did see that you suggested that in the other thread. I was unsure why you wanted that, to left it out for now. What is the thought about it?

Haha. Just to give the skin more color. And this way you see better that the name of playlist depends to the toggle button you know

Ciao,
The new RTM works perfectly on my Test laptop. For the CarPC, I think I need to upgrade the hardware, to solve the problem:-(
I'm thinking of buying Msi H110I Pro Mini, Intel COre i3, SSD 250 Samsung EVO, and 2 x 4Gb DDR4 RAM. What do you think about this choice?
thank you bye

Don't waste your time, my CarPc has various problems, it loses the connection to the GPS antenna, the phone does not work, it often happens that the startup profile file of DS gets corrupted and so on.
I will decide if I completely change my HW with a new one.
bye
