Hi all,
how do you have connected the power in car for the monitor? Directly to the battery via ignition switch? To have a 12V stabilized, I would like to connect it to a free Molex connector of CarPC powered by an M3-ATX. The monitor uses about 8W.
I think to fit two quick connectors on the CarPC case, one 3 pin to power the CarPC from Car, and one 2-pin to free Molex connector then receives power from the M3-ATX. This also in order to quickly remove the CarPC car.
What do you think? It's a good or bad idea?

What do you think? It's a good or bad idea? A free molex from M3ATX is a very good idea. Why? 1: you have stabilized 12 V power for your monitor 2: I did exactly the same even with a M2ATX ;) Do not exchange the molex cable. yellow= 12V black=ground Edited by user Saturday, November 7, 2015 8:37:03 PM(UTC)

My screen is also powered through the computer.
It has a huge advantage as the screen will completely power off when the PC turns off.

Yes,good point, also Yeah.. the user essal on the forum is the person who build my system in the car.. he knows EVERYTHING about this stuff, also audio setups, hardware etc.. a true guru.. i don't think he visits the forum that often, but hopefully more as the project develops.. he is looking much forward to getting the FE into his own car. He is sort if my right hand through this project regarding what people want, what needs to work WELL and BETTER than anything on the market as he has great experience with his customers. So, if you want to know anything, give him a PM and hopefully he will respond..
